Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas after Clasico victory over Real Madrid: It is a very special day for me.

The 24-year-old spoke of the happiness he felt in defeating Jose Mourinho's men and how a tactical change was behind the impressive result in Madrid

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has spoken of his delight at scoring his first goal against rivals Real Madrid in the 3-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday evening.

The Catalan giants were shell-shocked when Karim Benzema scored the fastest goal in Clasico history to give Madrid the lead after 22 seconds.

However, Pep Guardiola's men bounced back with a goal from Alexis Sanchez, and Marcelo deflected into his own net before Fabregas' header put the icing on the cake, sending the Blaugrana top of La Liga.

"It's a very special day for me. The first half was tough but in the second we played a great match," the former Arsenal man told reporters after the game.

Fabregas was also keen to highlight how a tactical switch was the catalyst to Barcelona's impressive comeback.

"We played with three defenders for around 70 minutes and to do this and win at the Bernabeu says a lot about this team," he added.

Fabregas and Co will now head to Japan where they will be hoping to be crowned Club World Cup Champions before returning to Liga action in January.
